Lewis & Clark Elementary is excited to partner with the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope for Heart program again this year. JRFH is an activity that focuses on healthy living, the importance of physical fitness and community service–all things that are important to our school!

Our school’s activity is set for the week of February 13-17 during PE. Students may collect donations online or via their collection envelope should they choose to raise funds for the American Heart Association.

Our school goal is for each student to raise $5 in support of this program and earn a water bottle. We are also hosting two special challenges. Each student who signs up online at  www.americanheart/jump and collects at least a $10 donation will earn a set of American Herat Association silly bands. Also, the top 25 students will get to attend a scooter board party!

Last year our school raised $1,990 in support of the American Heart Association. Our goal this year is to collect $2,200 and to have 50 students raising donations online. Our school earned rackets for the PE department as a special thank you for sponsoring JRFH.

2012 is here!

Welcome 2012!  I hope the Holiday was restful for everyone!  I know that my family enjoyed every moment we had together!

I am looking forward to seeing all the studen’t faces this week!  WE will be working on our cardiorespiratory fitness this week.  We will do the PACER test to get a check on our current fitness level and to get an idea of how hard we need to work for our spring tests!

Kinder will be working on their locomotor skills and learning the food groups!
