Ms. Allmaras’s class and Mrs. Kuntz class have teamed up for a once a month mentoring through movement! The fifth grade students have been paired with a kinder student to work with them on fundamental movement and skills. This week the kindergarten students worked on locomotor movements.
It was great to see the fifth grade students working on demonstrating, modifying and verbalizing as they taught the skills. Students were working on hopping, galloping, skipping and back pedaling. It was so good for the kinder students to have individualized instruction and attention, and equally as good for the fifth graders to learn how to break a skill down and deliver it in such a way a 5 or 6 year old could understand!
Way to go 5th graders!
