Energy Ball

We focused on three nutrients today and the energy we get from them:
Fats, Carbohydrates and Protein

We know that fats provide us with a lot of energy.
We know that Carbohydrates are quick energy.
We know that Proteins repair muscle and other tissues.

Each provide us with a different amount of energy.
Fats- 9 units of energy per gram.
Carbohydrates-4 units of energy per gram.
Proteins- 4 units of energy per gram.

We will be continuing on with the nutrients and identifying the foods that provide the body with each of these nutrients!

FAMILY NUTRITION NIGHT WAS A HIT!

MANY THANKS to every parent, teacher, student who helped make the night a success! A special thank you to Fire Fighter Tim for donating his services to check blood pressures during the event!  Thank you MR. Pahlas for spending the evening greeting parents and helping the night run smoothly!!
A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ALL THE PARENTS WHO CAME OUT TO SEE WHAT NUTRITION AND FITNESS NIGHT WAS ALL ABOUT!

The objective of the night was to bring families together to have a little fun, try some fruits and vegetables and to learn a little about nutrition!  I feel we met those objectives by watching parents and students laugh together, workout together, try foods together!  WHAT A NIGHT!!!

I APPRECIATE everyone who helped make the night a success!!!
